Is there anything quite as pretty as a bunch of posies? Peonies in glass jars, tapering orchids, tuberoses in china vases… if only we could also find a way to make sure they stayed longer on the vine. Because there’s also nothing quite as sad as seeing flowers that fade.
Which is what make’s this week’s DIY the perfect pick me up for fall. And inspiration was easy peasy when we stumbled upon this gorgeous tumblr by paper crafter extraordinaire Amalia Alefirenko.
Would you look at these installations? How can anyone not want to raid a stationery store at once for supplies?
Wilt Not Want Not
Paper flowers have always been cool. They’re easy to make, you can play with texture, shape, colour and size. They look prettier than plastic, hands down, plus you get some serious karmic credit for not adding to your carbon footprint. Plus they’re feminine, whimsical, quirky and colourful additions to almost every space. Tuck them into a book nook, stick them in odd planters or vases for your desk, display them in apothecary jars that glint in the sun on your windowsill. Gorgeous!

And just in case the pictures of what we rustled up in office don’t speak a thousand words, we also made a neat little video tutorial for you. Boy, do we deserve a bloom ribbon for this stuff!
