Every creation at The Wishing Chair is designed in-house and prototyped at our studio, nestled in a designer village, Shahpur Jat in Delhi.

Colour, Pattern, & Plants!
Our name is derived from the books, the The Wishing Chair, where the eponymous chair was magical and could take you to anywhere in the world. We loved the transportative nature of this idea, and that our spaces should stir a certain nostalgic longing of that dreamy, joyful, happy place one yearns for. So our vision boards always seek to create that dreamy place for all of us.
We are inspired mostly by the infinite majesty of nature. We believe plants and flowers are truly magic. Our collections are also inspired by movies, food (almost always dessert), fashion, book design and everyday objects.
We like to keep our designs classic and timeless with elements gleaned from local techniques; celebrating colour, pattern and intricacy through a lens of feminine playfulness and joie-de-vivre.
For Women, By Women
We, Viv & Ami, as women founders, champion women’s experiences through The Wishing Chair. We love the feminine aesthetic, as we design intricate, floral, and pastel designs that soften and bring a joyful warmth to spaces. On the supply chain side of things, we support women artisans and collaborators, honing their talents into creating products and experiences that celebrate womanhood.Our Delhi-based book club is our little haven, where our readers discuss female-led books and women authors. Quarterly, we host women-entrepreneur meet-ups where female founders share, connect, and inspire each other. We'd welcome anyone who would llike to join our supportive, creative community.
